**Description** SAIC is seeking a Technical Writer to support our team in San Diego, CA. This is a Hybrid/Remote role. JOB DUTIES: + Writes and updates material for software user manuals, hardware manuals, system manuals, software requirements, software version descriptions, and related technical and administrative publications. + Refines work of other technical writers, and heads and coordinates activities of writers engaged in preparing technical documentation. + Writes and/or edit technical documents, including business proposals, reports, user manuals, briefings and presentations, functional descriptions, system specifications, guidelines, special reports, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements. + Develop outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and project management ensuring that final documents meet internal guidelines and applicable contract requirements and regulations. + Research and gather technical and background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables, including comparing written test to hardware in a computer lab and launching software to confirm instructions are accurate. + Consult relevant information sources, including military standards, web searches, technical documents, and customer and project personnel, to obtain background information, and verify pertinent guidelines and regulations governing project deliverables. + Commensurate experience, education, and level of supervision and direction. **Qualifications** **REQUIREMENTS:** + Bachelor's Degree plus five (5) years or more experience + Must be a U.S. Citizen + Must have at least an interim Secret clearance **DESIRED SKILLS:** + Previous experience with Writing/Editing Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors. SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
