**Responsibilities**
The Senior Business Systems Analyst - Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) provides advanced technical, analytical, and workflow support for Clinical Documentation Integrity systems and initiatives. This position serves as a liaison between CDI operations, IT, and data analytics, ensuring optimal functionality of CDI platforms such as 3M, Nuance, and related EHR-integrated tools. The analyst also plays a key role in report development, data visualization, automation scripting, and workflow optimization across the enterprise. This role requires a deep understanding of clinical operations, coding/CDI processes, and modern scripting and automation techniques to streamline documentation workflows and enhance productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Serve as the technical lead for CDI platforms (e.g., 3M 360 Encompass, Nuance CDE One, Clintegrity) and ensure system performance, updates, and user functionality.
+ Collaborate with IT, vendors, and clinical teams to support integrations, troubleshoot issues, and maintain data accuracy between EHR and CDI tools.
+ Develop and maintain reporting dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker; design meaningful KPIs and trend visualizations for CDI leadership.
+ Pull, manipulate, and validate data from various sources (SQL databases, APIs, cloud platforms, internal systems) to support CDI performance analysis and special projects.
+ Write scripts and automations using tools such as **Python, Google Apps Script, SQL** , or **JavaScript** to reduce manual work, streamline workflows, and improve data flow between systems.
+ Support user provisioning, role-based access, and maintenance of CDI application settings.
+ Develop custom queries, logic, and extracts to support audits, denials management, education initiatives, and CDI compliance monitoring.
+ Lead technical testing during system upgrades, CDI software implementations, and post-deployment validation efforts.
+ Document workflows, automation protocols, data dictionaries, and training materials for ongoing team use.
+ Stay current with technology trends, CDI best practices, and coding/regulatory changes to recommend enhancements.
+ Identifies areas for improvement in CDI and relevant clinician documentation processes based on data analysis. Identifies data trends, makes recommendations for improvement, designs and implements projects requiring systems integration, small teams and multiple technical platforms.
**Requirements**
Education:
+ High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
**Additional Preferences**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related field required.
+ Master's degree or healthcare-specific certifications preferred.
+ Certified Scrum Master, Google App Script Developer, Python Certification, or equivalent preferred.
+ CDI-related certifications (CCDS, CDIP) a plus
+ Epic Data Model or EHR integration experience a plus
+ Advanced technical and analytical skills with hands-on experience in scripting, system administration, and workflow mapping.
+ High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, scripting languages (Python, Apps Script), SQL, and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
+ Strong understanding of HL7, FHIR, or EHR data integration principles a plus.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to independently research, test, and resolve issues.
+ Exceptional communication skills to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
+ Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic healthcare environment.
