Job Description
Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Byron, IL . Responsibilities include authoring design change packages and providing structural design solutions for equipment and system issues.
Rate Range: $61/hour to $62/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Engineer job responsibilities include:
Develop and author design change packages in accordance with IP-ENG-001 industry design standards.
Provide structural design engineering support for nuclear power plant systems and refueling outages.
Lead and manage engineering tasks and programs, ensuring technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Identify and resolve equipment and system issues through direct technical involvement and consultation.
Guide and mentor junior engineers, providing oversight and direction on complex engineering challenges.
Perform advanced structural analysis related to equipment vibration, containment validation, and power uprate projects.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; Master’s in Structural Engineering recommended.
Minimum of 20 years of engineering experience in support of nuclear plant operations.
Proven experience in structural design engineering for industrial plants, including piping, motors, and heavy equipment.
Prior involvement in major nuclear projects such as EPU/SPU, turbine retrofits, or containment and vibration analysis.
