About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead the clinical strategy for medical affairs, quality, and medical management. The CMO will be instrumental in building and sustaining programs that drive innovative approaches to improve healthcare outcomes for members. This includes care management oversight, quality and STAR rating improvements, appropriate utilization, and the transformation of the health system. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the implementation of medical programs and policies, enhancing relationships with providers and facilities, and engaging in industry policy advocacy and with regulatory agencies. The role demands a focus on clinical affordability, quality, population health, growth, and external relationship initiatives. Applicants for the CMO position at the company must have an unrestricted MD or DO degree, completed residency, and be board-certified in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, or OB/GYN, with a preference for primary care specialties. A minimum of 12 years of clinical experience, including at least 5 years in an administrative role within managed care, is required. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in public health, business administration, or medical administration, and at least 5 years of management experience in health plan management, including the supervision of other physicians and clinical staff. The CMO will be a key member of the senior executive team, reporting to the health plan CEO, and will play a pivotal role in the company's mission to ensure members have access to high-quality healthcare.
